Bike Park Trail Crew
Angel Fire Bike Park is in search of quality trail crew members with experience and motivation to help continue building the 60+ miles of trail in the bike park. The trail crew works with hand tools, chain saws, etc. while implementing erosion control, building bridges and wooden features, inspecting and testing trails and features, and maintaining trail signage. The ideal candidate will have experience building and maintaining trails using a variety of tools.
Base Pay: Starts at $18/hr depending on experience
Location: Angel Fire Resort Mountain
Employee Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Job Category: Seasonal Full Time (Could transition to Grooming and Snowmaking for the winter season)
Leadership Responsibilities: No
Required Certs or Licenses: Valid Driver's License
Attendance: Regular, predictable, punctual, and in-person attendance is essential

Environment: This is a physically demanding outdoor position. Must be able to stand/walk for entire shift and regularly lift/carry 75lbs. This is a do-whatever-it-takes job that requires the ability to work in varied environments

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Uses hand tools such as rakes, picks, shovels
  • Safely operates chainsaws
  • Maintains existing trails
  • Re-builds and creates new sections for existing trails
  • Builds wooden features
  • Understands gravity-fed mountain bike trail layout, erosion mitigation, durability construction
  • Has a keen eye for trail safety design on all trails and features construction (creating safe trails for all skill levels)
  • Self-motivated individual who takes pride in constructing and maintaining awesome bike trails with amazing flow
  • Maintains trails with the skill level of the rider in mind: greens, blues, black diamonds

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to ride a downhill mountain bike at an advanced level, maintaining control in all conditions and on all runs.
  • Must have experience with hand tools and chainsaws as well as basic woodworking and maintenance skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with driving record insurable under resort insurance.

Other: Must provide own downhill mountain biking gear.
