Why Join Morrison Mahoney?
We are proud to be recognized as one of the premier litigation law firms in the Northeast. From day one, you'll gain meaningful, hands-on experience alongside top AV-rated attorneys. You'll be part of a dynamic team, working on diverse and challenging cases that foster both professional growth and personal development. Most importantly, you'll be supported by colleagues who are genuinely invested in your success and career advancement.
A Day in the Life of an Associate Attorney
As a litigation associate attorney at Morrison Mahoney LLP, you'll take on a substantive and engaging role that balances autonomy with collaboration. You'll manage a diverse caseload from start to finish - drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, meeting critical deadlines, and driving matters forward.
Your litigation skills will continue to deepen through regular opportunities to prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials. You'll play a key role in developing litigation strategies, working closely with clients, experts, and colleagues across the firm. Maintaining proactive and professional communication with clients - including providing status updates and strategic guidance - will be an essential part of your practice.
You'll also contribute to case strategy through focused legal research and well-crafted memoranda, and you'll work side by side with partners on complex, high-value matters. This is a rewarding opportunity to sharpen your litigation skills, expand your courtroom experience, and advance your career in a firm that values your growth and contributions.
What Matters Most
To succeed in this role, you will need a robust set of skills and qualifications.
  • A Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Rhode Island Bar, are essential prerequisites.
  • 1 - 3 years of prior civil litigation experience and experience in both Rhode Island state and federal courts.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions and leading discovery.
  • Self-starter with strong advocacy skills, proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, and the ability to perform legal research.

Let's Connect!
If you are ready to join a team that values expertise, independence, and collaboration, we invite you to apply today. Be a part of Morrison Mahoney's long-standing tradition of excellence in litigation.
