Graduate Assistant - Athletic Communications
Description of Position
Northwest Nazarene University Northwest Nazarene University is accepting applications for the position of Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant. This is a part-time, year-around, temporary position that reports to the Sports Information Director.
Essential Functions
  • Assists with writing press releases and feature stories on varsity sports.
  • Helps with team media days and maintaining and updating the NNU Athletics website and archives.
  • Assists with sports information duties at home competitions, including producing gameday programs, taking statistics, live-streaming, and videography/photography.
  • Assists with social media content creation and management.
  • Participates as a member of the Athletics Operations team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Sports Information Director.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Acceptance into NNU's Graduate School
  • High motivation and commitment to the University, organizational skills, the ability to self-start, be calm under pressure, meet deadlines, work without direct supervision, multi-task, problem solve, and relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances
  • The University requires that all staff members be Christians and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU and be willing to help advance the spiritual goals of the University.

Compensation
Full-time graduate school tuition and $3,000 per year stipend. A two-year commitment is preferred, renewed after one year based on satisfactory academic and work-related performance.
