Job description

Role Objective

Capture2 is looking for an experienced Natural Language Processing (NLP) Data Lead to join our engineering team, and to act as a leader for the information processing and extraction efforts within our organization. We are seeking an application engineer with experience extracting key information from unstructured text, and to work closely with the broader Capture2 engineering team to help revolutionize our data analysis efforts. An individual with a background in NLP technologies will be integral to guiding the training and testing of models for entity recognition, extraction, and normalization of information across a wide range of text and content sources.

This role is technical in nature, and requires both implementation experience writing code and developing models, as well as acting as a leader and mentor for the NLP efforts within the Capture2 team.


Responsibilities

- Analyze text inputs to support information extraction and data classification efforts

- Develop software to process, evaluate, classify, and summarize text in a variety of forms

- Produce models to support entity identification and extraction across a large corpus of text and unstructured content

- Support the development of new requirements, strategies, and concepts to expand the Natural Language Processing (NLP) efforts

- Work with the development team to continually improve the quality and scope of the solution models

- Participate in concept development and strategy sessions to develop new and innovative solutions

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Experience

- Hands-on experience (3+ years) in a variety of NLP technologies, techniques, and concepts

- Expertise in data processing and transformation, with a demonstrated capability of turning unstructured text into useful information

- Demonstrated development experience (Java, Python, etc.) in developing and maintaining NLP software solutions

- Experience in standard NLP activities and techniques, such as sentence/word tokenization, stemming, named entity recognition (NER), part of speech (POS) tagging, and other parsing activities.
