STATUS: FULL-TIME (EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Manager will promote the venue as the premier sport and entertainment district. This position will work with event providers/vendors, be responsible for promoting the primary revenue streams through effective marketing and advertising efforts. This role will assist in the implementation of a marketing plan including digital, social, grassroots, and local/regional/national event relationship building, and more.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Executing the marketing plan and strategic initiatives in partnership with the General Manager
  • Managing and updating the venue website
  • Content development and management of digital or social media
  • Designing flyers and promotional materials
  • Managing social media business accounts including regular posting and management of content calendar
  • Preparing and presenting regular reporting on marketing strategy and results
  • Capturing quality video content of guests, leagues, events, and programs
  • Developing creative ideas to improve the foot traffic into the venue
  • Creating and executing promotional contests, giveaways, and membership events
  • Build relationships all other local business (schools, churches, etc.)
  • Increasing social media followers and the number of positive reviews
  • Updating the in house digital marketing/advertising campaigns
  • Monitoring guest feedback, reviews, and ratings and consistently presenting trends to the General Manager
  • Assisting with all complex public relations efforts, inquiries, and strategies
  • Event development and primary contact for all events prior to fulfillment
  • Responsible for negotiating contractual agreements, event tracking processes, and database
  • Accomplishes objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs; developing field sales action plans
  • Sustains rapport with key accounts by maintaining regular communication, making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities
  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Participation in planning/strategic meetings
  • Work with finance department to track and report profitability
  • Development of operational Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports
  • All other duties as assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, sports management, or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years appropriate marketing experience required
  • Experience in youth sports, trade shows, consumer shows or convention sales preferred
  • Experience in contract negotiations, event creation, and planning preferred
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and negotiating skills
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays as needed
  • Prior responsibility in P&L management and budget oversight

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds waist high
  • Will be required to sit for extended periods of time operating a computer
  • Will be required to conduct venue tours to prospective clients
  • Workplace environment has intermittent noise, generally moderate in nature, but can be loud at times especially during competitions and events

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimal intermittent travel as needed to various trade shows, networking events, and corporate events
