To thrive as a Network IT professional, you need a deep understanding of networking principles, troubleshooting, and security, typically supported by a degree in computer science or information technology. Familiarity with tools like Cisco routers and switches, network monitoring software, and certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA is highly valued.
