Description

The Leidos National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) Program is looking for an Operations Analyst to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Office of Advanced Aviation Technologies (AAT).

The Office of Advanced Aviation Technologies will be the designated point for activities related to the integration of advanced aviation technologies including Advance Air Mobility, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, and Supersonic aircraft in United States. The incumbent will support the new Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) Integration Pilot Program (eIPP) partnerships that will enable safe operations and increasing automation safety in the National Airspace.  

Specifically, this work directly supports the FAA’s safety mission and statutory requirements across multiple functional areas including safety oversight, security, and FAA Reauthorization implementation activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead programmatic support efforts necessary for the planning and execution of the eVTOL Integration Pilot Program.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to FAA senior leadership supporting the development of implementation frameworks, schedules, risk assessments, and reporting materials that enable effective decision-making.
  • Directly responsible for the collection, analysis, and organization of operational, technical, and stakeholder data that inform FAA integration strategies.
  • Facilitate collaboration with industry partners, government stakeholders, and operational units participating in pilot program activities.
  • Establish and execute a master schedule of program deliverables and sustain continuity across evolving eVTOL integration workstreams.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled site visits to monitor progress, respond to urgent matters, meet with key stakeholders, and gather data.
  • Develop executive briefings detailing the status of current program activities as well as recommendations for process improvements and future initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate to various levels of management, with the capacity to multi-task, strong organizational skills, budget adherence experience, and ability to organize meetings consisting of agency and external stakeholders with a broad range of specialties and interests including members from professional aviation organizations are required.
  • Must have excellent written communication skills and able to independently develop and finalize official reports.
  • High proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Recent experience with AAM, UAS and/or C-UAS technologies within the federal government.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal aviation regulations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in federal government contracting. FAA is highly desirable.
  • Experience with various state aviation regulations.
  • Working knowledge of FAA systems.
