Job Overview

The Planner I provides input and oversight of routings and bills of material (BOMs) in support of material resource planning (ERP) requirements. As a Planner I you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and working with the production team to support the scheduling of orders and scheduled customer commitments; working closely with internal departments such as manufacturing, procurement, materials, engineering, quality, and logistics to ensure timely communication of lead times, schedule impacts and changes, material shortages, etc.

Responsibilities
    • Developing,implementing,and improving theRouters

    • Creatingand distributingthe Work Order packages, consisting of Pick Tickets and Routers, per the Planning schedule

    • Monitor and systemically close each router stepwhen completed

    • Confers with departmentmanagementto determinethestatus of assignedprojects

    • Expedites operations that delay schedules andalterschedules to meet unforeseen conditions

    • When necessary, informs Purchasing to expedite specific materialin order tomeet delivery commitments

    • Ensures system integrity through maintenance of system records, routers, andwork orders

    • MonitorsERP, shortage lists, and related indicators to determine 100% material availability and to ensure 100% on-time customer delivery

    • Participatein teams to help make necessary improvements and changes to allprocess-relatedissues

    • Attendscross-functionalactivities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering to ensure a smooth flow of materials through the production processes

    • Identifies and communicates a detailed status on any material planning items impacting the production schedule (e.g.,part shortages)

    • Ensurethat workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations

Qualifications
  • Good investigative and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to think logically and methodically

  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Decision-makingability coupled with the ability to work independently and proactively

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word,Excel,and PowerPoint

Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED required

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree preferred

  • 1 - 2years of experiencein planning and/or production controlpreferredbut not required

  • Experience utilizing an ERP/MRP system

Work Environmental and Physical Demands:

  • Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may includeweekdays, weekends, nights,and/or holidays

  • Ability tolift upto 25 lbs. may be required

  • Job will generally be performed in an officeenvironment butmay require travel. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply

  • Candidates will be required to show a driving abstract with a clean driving history for travel between the NCI facility locations and client offices as required. A valid driverโ€™s license is necessary
