We are hiring two Lead Footwear Developers for Nike by You.
WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
As part of the Nike by You, Product Development team, this role partners closely with key footwear functions including Color and Material Design, Product Management, PCC/PMO, Digital Product Creation, Sourcing, Planning, and Operations. You will navigate Nike's matrixed environment to ensure alignment with Global Footwear Development, engineering, and materials standards for product excellence. Serving as the primary liaison between PCC/PMO partners and the PHK product team, you will drive clear, accurate communication throughout the product development process and report to the Senior Manager of Product Development, Speed and Nike by You.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a Lead Footwear Product Developer to play a critical role on the Nike by You Footwear Product Creation Team, driving product excellence for the Nike by You consumer in a fast-paced, close-to-market environment. As a Lead Footwear Product Developer, this person will provide project and process direction, within the project team, at an accelerated pace and close to market working from product creation through the digital expression to product launch. The ideal candidate needs to have demonstrated project management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a product development environment. As a member of the Nike by You product creation team, this person will effectively build relationships, lead, and interact with teams across Nike by You Footwear Product Creation across all areas of the Nike by you business.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, material development, engineering, physical sciences or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
  • 6+ years of Footwear Product Creation experience
  • Background in engineering, material development, and footwear product testing is a plus.
  • Lead footwear product development projects at an accelerated pace, through all phases of product creation as well as supporting the digital team for digital product expression of the product you will be working on.
  • Provide project and process direction within cross-functional product creation teams
  • Drive innovation and product initiatives across footwear dimensions and divisions.
  • Leverage deep technical knowledge across lasts, uppers, materials, tooling, costing, engineering, testing, and manufacturing.
  • Motivated and driven self-starter who can exhibit strong project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Communicate effectively across functions, geographies, and leadership levels.
  • Demonstrate resilient leadership with high tolerance for ambiguity and changing priorities.
  • Evaluate and evolve processes in engineering and/or material development to bring elevated products to the Nike by You consumer.
  • Build strong partnerships across global, culturally diverse teams.
  • Known ability to identify opportunities to improve the product creation process and help evolve new standards for speed, clarity, and execution excellence.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution to deliver product excellence.
  • Travel up to 15% as needed.

As a Lead Footwear Product Developer for Nike by You, you will create the future of customization and personalization by leading footwear projects across Men's, Women's, and Kids, bringing ideas from product created in our Sport teams to life in a way that provides unique customization and personalization opportunities for our consumers. This role drives product and process excellence in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, ensuring projects deliver against design intent, performance, cost, sustainability, timing expectations, and digital expression while meeting the consumer needs.
