Position Details
Title Postdoctoral Fellow in Inner-Ear Biology Specific Title Appointment Type Postdoctoral Fellow Department IUSM - Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Campus IU School of Medicine Indianapolis Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated and creative post-doctoral fellow to join our group at the Indiana School of Medicine. Our NIH funded lab studies pathophysiology of the inner ear using multiple genetic mouse models and a novel human stem cell-derived 3D inner ear organoid model. We study genetically-mediated hair cell and neuronal degeneration in these model system to determine cellular networks that lead to cell death and to establish molecules that can prevent degeneration.
Experimental approaches being used in the lab include inner ear drug delivery, CRISPR/Cas9, single cell RNA-seq, cell culture with live cell imaging, immunohistochemistry with confocal microscopy, Ca2+ imaging, coimmunoprecipitation and proteomics.

Basic Qualifications
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in biomedical sciences. Previous research experience in genetics and/or proteomics is highly desirable, but not required. Ability to work with animal models is required. Salary is compatible with NIH pay schedule.
