Job description

Overview

The Thoracic Surgery Branch, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking an ABTS certified or eligible thoracic surgeon with a strong commitment to translational research in thoracic oncology. This position is in the Center for Cancer Research at the NIH Clinical Center, the largest hospital in the world devoted solely to biomedical research. The role provides comprehensive resources, protected time, mentoring, and laboratory and clinical protocol support in an environment that fosters high riskโ€“high reward research. The position is well suited for thoracic surgeons who wish to establish independent research programs and translate findings into innovative clinical trials with the potential to establish new standards for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of thoracic malignancies. Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
