Diagnostic Radiology Opportunity in IL

You'll step into an on-site Diagnostic Radiology role with a respected community hospital that's rebuilding its local radiology presence. This position is built for a versatile Diagnostic Radiologist with breast imaging and light IR comfort, supported by strong teleradiology for overflow and overnight coverage. Practice Overview


  • 100% on-site imaging department coverage with teleradiology support for overflow and subspecialty reads (e.g., Neuro, MSK, Peds)
  • Case mix includes X-ray (50%), CT (20%), breast imaging (20%), US (7%), MRI (3%), and light IR/fluoro (1-2%)
  • Breast scope: 2D/3D mammography, diagnostic workups, breast US/MRI, and US-guided biopsy/FNA
  • Light IR/fluoro: paracentesis/thoracentesis, fluid aspirations, thyroid FNA/superficial node biopsies, joint injections/arthrograms (sedation handled by surgical nursing)

Schedule


  • Flexible schedule; typical split is 2 diagnostic/breast days and 3 fluoro/IR days
  • Average IR volume: 2-4 cases per week
  • No call required; overnight nighthawk takes over daily at 5:00 PM
  • Daily target volume: 90-110 total studies

Compensation & Benefits


  • Base salary guarantee starting at 660,000
  • Sign-on bonus: 150,000 (paid upon signing)
  • Student loan repayment: up to 200,000 relocation up to 5,000
  • PTO: 6-12 weeks/year (exclusive of CME days); malpractice and CME covered; full core benefits included

Candidate Requirements


  • MD/DO; Board Eligible or Board Certified in Radiology
  • Breast imaging readiness: must be MQSA-compliant
  • Required certifications: Tomosynthesis (3D) and/or Breast MRI certifications as applicable
  • Open to new grads or experienced candidates; body/general background with strong breast & light IR experience considered
