Job description

We're People People. Are you?

We're Sonesta International Hotels-the 8th largest hotel company in the U.S. (and growing fast 🚀).

With a dynamic mix of full-service and focused hotels across major cities, our diverse portfolio of owned, managed, and franchised properties means we're everywhere our guests need us to be.

But here's the thing-we're not just in the business of hotels, we're in the business of people. We bring service with passion, loyalty with purpose, and create experiences that genuinely connect-delivering quality, value, and memorable stays across 1,000+ properties in eight countries (and counting).

What this role is all about

Great guest experiences don't stop when the sun goes down - and our Night Auditors help keep everything running smoothly overnight. You'll welcome late-arriving guests, support overnight hotel operations, and ensure the day's financial activity is accurate and ready for the morning team.
This role is perfect for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently. You'll balance warm, attentive guest service with front desk responsibilities, financial reporting, and overnight safety and security procedures.
If you're a night owl who stays calm under pressure and loves creating exceptional hospitality experiences - we'd love to meet you.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide friendly, professional, and attentive guest service during overnight Front Desk operations including check-in, check-out, and guest assistance.

  • Complete nightly audit procedures including balancing accounts, reconciling transactions, processing financial reports, and closing daily hotel operations.

  • Monitor overnight hotel activity and respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and operational needs.

  • Process guest payments, billing adjustments, cash handling procedures, and PMS transactions accurately.

  • Prepare and distribute daily operational, accounting, and occupancy reports for hotel leadership teams.

  • Maintain strong knowledge of hotel operations, room inventory, reservations systems, guest service standards, and hotel procedures.

  • Support room assignments, reservations, wake-up calls, and overnight operational coordination across departments.

  • Monitor hotel safety, security, and overnight operational readiness while following hotel safety procedures and policies.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards across Front Desk and lobby areas.

  • Partner closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and hotel leadership teams to support smooth overnight operations.

  • Any other duties as assigned.

What great looks like

  • Previous Front Desk, Night Audit, hospitality, hotel operations, accounting, customer service, or guest service experience preferred.

  • Experience using PMS systems, POS systems, reservations platforms, and handling cash transactions accurately preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to reconcile reports, balances, and financial transactions accurately.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and guest service skills.

  • Ability to work independently and remain organized in a fast-paced overnight hospitality environment.

  • Basic accounting, auditing, or financial reporting knowledge preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to operational accuracy.

  • Flexible availability including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and audit coverage as needed.

  • Positive, dependable, and service-focused mindset with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally.

  • A passion for hospitality, teamwork, guest experience, and operational excellence.

  • Must be available for overnight shifts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
