Job Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Current experience recovering immediate post-op CABG and TAVR patients
  • Current experience managing Swan-Ganz catheters
  • Experience with EPIC charting required
  • EKG exam required
  • BLS or ACLS preferred at hire; ACLS required within 6 months of hire
  • Strong critical care knowledge and comfort with high-acuity cardiovascular patient populations
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative interdisciplinary team
  • Professional, adaptable, and calm under pressure in a fast-changing acute care environment
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill cardiovascular patients in the CVICU
  • Monitor hemodynamics and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
  • Care for patients requiring ventilators, critical drips, and advanced cardiac support
  • Support the management of patients with Swan-Ganz catheters, Impella, VAD, IABP, and CRRT when applicable
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using evidence-based critical care nursing practices
  • Administer medications safely and titrate therapies according to protocols and provider orders
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
  • Educate patients and families while providing compassionate, patient-centered support
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold safety, quality, and infection control standards
  • Deliver excellent care in a high-acuity unit with limited ancillary support, prioritizing efficiency and teamwork
