Department: Diagnostic Imaging Status: Full-Time | 1.0 FTE | 40+ Hours per Week FLSA: Non-Exempt On-Call: Yes – 30-minute response time required Reports To: Manager – Diagnostic Imaging Location: Pagosa Springs Medical Center – Pagosa Springs, CO

Position Summary

Pagosa Springs Medical Center is seeking a skilled and versatile CT / Radiologic Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. This dual-modality position performs high-quality CT and general radiographic imaging procedures, including fluoroscopy and C-arm support in the OR. Under the supervision of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager and in collaboration with Radiologists and providers, the technologist delivers safe, accurate, and patient-centered imaging services. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to patient safety, quality imaging, and collaborative teamwork in a rural hospital environment.

CT Imaging
  • Perform diagnostic CT examinations using appropriate positioning and technical parameters
  • Initiate IV access and administer contrast per protocol under Radiologist supervision
  • Complete CT contrast consents and assess allergies, kidney function, and contraindications
  • Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and reformat images as required
  • Follow the Seven Rights of Medication Administration
  • Perform CT quality control procedures per manufacturer guidelines
Radiologic Imaging
  • Perform general radiographic procedures and fluoroscopy
  • Operate C-Arm in the Operating Room as needed
  • Perform portable imaging across multiple hospital departments
  • Assist Radiologists and providers with fluoroscopic and interventional procedures
General Duties
  • Verify orders for appropriateness and clarify with providers as needed
  • Use at least two patient identifiers for every encounter
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Ensure correct charge capture for each case
  • Maintain equipment and report malfunctions promptly
  • Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards
  • Participate in cross-training of staff and students
  • Assist with departmental inventory and supply management
  • Support National Patient Safety Goals and universal precautions

Qualifications Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an approved ARRT program

Licensure & Certifications

  • ARRT certification in Radiography required
  • CT registry (ARRT-CT) required
  • Current AHA BLS certification required

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years CT and/or clinical radiology experience preferred

Skills

  • Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Hospital-based environment with exposure to radiation, bodily fluids, and hazardous materials
  • On-call responsibilities with 30-minute response time
  • Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and patient positioning
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds; heavier lifts require team assistance
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to multitask
Compensation, Incentives & Schedule Overview
  • Base Compensation Range: $33.25 - $51.40 hourly, based on years of relevant experience ranging from 0 to 22 years of experience.
  • Night Shift Differential: Employees in this position receive night shift differential pay of an additional $5.00 per hour.
  • Starting Work Bonus: This position is eligible for a starting work bonus of up to $5,000. Eligibility, amount, and payment terms are subject to Pagosa Springs Medical Center's compensation policies and may vary based on position, experience, and employment status. Bonus payments, if applicable, are typically issued after the employee has met required employment and service criteria.
  • Moving Expense Reimbursement: This position is eligible for a moving expense reimbursement of up to $3,000. Reimbursement is subject to Pagosa Springs Medical Center's relocation policy and requires prior approval. Eligible expenses and reimbursement amounts may vary based on position and individual circumstances. Reimbursement is processed in accordance with established policy and applicable tax regulations.
  • Benefits: Full-time benefits include generous paid time off, separate sick leave, health, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long-term disability and option for short-term disability, and retirement plan with employer contribution.
  • Starting Work Bonus: Applicants are eligible for a starting work bonus of $5,000! Must be hired into a full-time position. Part-time or PRN positions are not eligible.

    • Option 1: Friday - Sunday, 8:30 p.m. - 8:00 a.m.
    • Option 2: Rotating schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
      • Week 1: Four 10-hour shifts (Mon - Thurs) + Three 12-hour shifts (Fri - Sun)
      • Week 2: Off
