Job description

Overview
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help build and scale the Azure platform that powers our engineering organization.
This role will be responsible for creating the infrastructure foundations, deployment automation, and platform capabilities that enable multiple development teams to deploy and operate services efficiently. Today, several engineering teams are dependent on shared infrastructure resources to provision and deploy new applications. Your focus will be creating scalable, repeatable solutions that remove those bottlenecks and improve engineering velocity.
This is a hands-on role requiring deep expertise in Azure, Terraform, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD automation.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform
  • Build reusable Infrastructure-as-Code modules, standards, and deployment patterns
  • Develop platform capabilities that enable engineering teams to deploy and manage services independently
  • Manage and improve Terraform state management and deployment workflows
  • Design and support Azure App Services and Azure Functions
  • Modernize and migrate existing CI/CD processes into Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Replace and simplify legacy deployment tooling and custom automation solutions
  • Establish infrastructure governance, security, and operational best practices
  • Partner with engineering teams to streamline deployments and reduce operational overhead
  • Document platform architecture, deployment standards, and operational procedures
  • Help evaluate future platform initiatives including containerization and Kubernetes adoption

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering experience
  • Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure experience
  • Expert-level Terraform experience
  • Experience building and managing Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks
  • Strong Azure DevOps (ADO) experience
  • Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Azure App Services
  • Experience deploying and supporting Azure Functions
  • Strong scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)
  • Experience supporting multiple engineering teams in a shared services environment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Kubernetes (AKS) experience
  • Docker and containerization experience
  • Platform Engineering experience
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service deployment frameworks
  • Monitoring and observability experience
  • Experience working within enterprise-scale Azure environments

Success in This Role
Within your first several months, you will:
  • Establish scalable Terraform standards and deployment patterns
  • Modernize existing CI/CD tooling and migrate workflows into Azure DevOps
  • Create repeatable deployment processes for Azure-based services and applications
  • Reduce infrastructure dependencies that currently slow engineering teams
  • Build a platform foundation capable of supporting future growth and evolving cloud initiatives

Core Technologies
Required
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Terraform
  • Azure DevOps (ADO)
  • Azure App Services
  • Azure Functions
  • CI/CD Automation

Preferred
  • Kubernetes (AKS)
