Job description

Are you looking for a night shift position? Do you enjoy operating modern, well-maintained equipment in a fast-paced production environment? Do you take pride in running equipment safely and efficiently?
We are currently seeking a self-motivated and dependable full-time Night Shift Aggregate Equipment Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to support aggregate production while maintaining a strong focus on equipment care, material quality, and site safety.
This position works in a high-production environment and offers the opportunity to be part of a team that values safety, precision, and reliability. Previous aggregate or mining experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with solid operating experience and a strong work ethic.

Core Competency Areas & Responsibilities

Equipment Operation & Production Support

  • Safely operate front-end loaders and other mobile equipment to feed material into the aggregate processing plant.
  • Maintain consistent production flow by properly managing material levels and plant feed.
  • Monitor material quality and report any issues that impact production or specification.
  • Communicate effectively with plant operators and supervisors to coordinate production needs.

Equipment Care & Inspections

  • Perform routine pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections.
  • Monitor equipment performance during operation and report abnormal conditions immediately.
  • Keep equipment clean and properly staged for the next shift.
  • Identify wear, damage, or safety concerns and ensure they are documented and addressed.

Safety & Site Awareness

  • Follow all company safety policies, MSHA guidelines, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain constant awareness of surroundings, traffic patterns, and plant activity.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, and job hazard assessments.
  • Actively promote a safe and responsible work environment for yourself and others.

General Site Responsibilities

  • Assist with cleanup and housekeeping of working areas as needed.
  • Support plant operations during startups, shutdowns, and shift changeovers.
  • Perform additional production-related duties as assigned.

Key Skills & Qualifications

1. Heavy Equipment Operation: Experience operating front-end loaders, haul trucks, or similar equipment preferred.

2. Safety Focused: Strong commitment to working safely and following procedures at all times.

3. Situational Awareness: Ability to recognize hazards and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment.

4. Communication: Ability to clearly communicate with supervisors and team members.

5. Reliability: Dependable attendance and ability to work independently during night shift operations.

6. Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, climb ladders/stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Prior experience in aggregates, mining, construction, or a similar industrial environment preferred.
  • Ability to work night shift, overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules as required.
