How much do night shift outpatient pacu rn jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 20, 2026, the average hourly pay for night shift outpatient pacu rn in the United States is $44.91, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $34.38 and $53.37 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the typical PACU nurse shift hours?

Night shift outpatient PACU RNs typically work overnight hours, often from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM or similar overnight shifts, depending on the facility. These shifts usually last 8 to 12 hours and may include weekends and holidays, requiring flexibility and certification in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).

Is PACU less stressful than ICU?

Night Shift Outpatient PACU RNs typically experience less high-pressure situations than ICU nurses, as PACU focuses on immediate postoperative recovery and monitoring, often with a more controlled environment. However, both roles require strong assessment skills and the ability to respond quickly to patient needs, and stress levels can vary based on individual workload and hospital protocols.

Do PACU nurses work night shift?

Night shift outpatient PACU RNs often work evening or overnight hours, depending on the hospital or clinic schedule. Many facilities require 24-hour coverage, so night shifts are common and may include additional shift differentials or overtime pay. Flexibility and the ability to work during non-traditional hours are important for this role.

What are the chillest nursing jobs?

Night shift outpatient PACU RNs often have a calmer work environment compared to other nursing roles, with fewer emergencies and a predictable schedule. These positions typically involve post-anesthesia care in outpatient settings, requiring strong assessment skills and certification in ACLS or BLS. The night shift can also offer higher pay and less daytime traffic, contributing to a more relaxed work experience.
