Rail Yard Laborer
Location: Dwight Illinois
Pay: $18.50/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-4:00 PM
Job Overview:
Our client is seeking dependable and hardworking Rail Yard Laborers to assist with daily operations in a grain and agricultural facility. This position involves loading and unloading rail cars, opening and closing rail car hatches, facility cleaning, and pressure washing. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and in a physically active environment. The assignment is expected to run from now through the end of the harvest season.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Load and unload rail cars safely and efficiently.
  2. Open and close rail car hatches and gates as needed.
  3. Perform general cleaning duties throughout the facility and rail yard.
  4. Operate pressure washing equipment to clean rail cars and work areas.
  5. Assist with material handling and moving equipment as directed.
  6. Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  7. Work with team members to ensure daily operational goals are met.
Please note: Candidates must be willing to work in a team setting, have great communication skills (written and verbal), and must be able to pass a background check.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Previous labor, construction, agricultural, warehouse, or rail yard experience preferred
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the shift
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and directions
  • Reliable transportation
