Job description

Dock Worker / Loader (Nights)
If you want a job that keeps you busy and like puzzles, then this job is for you! We are a busy warehouse that is divided into Dry, Cooler, and Frozen areas which you could rotate working in. Loaders play an essential role in the warehouse to transportation process in ensuring customer satisfaction.
$750 Night Shift Hiring Bonus! $250 paid at 3 months, $500 paid at 6 months!
Purpose: The primary goal is to quickly, correctly, and securely load pallets and boxes into trailers so that when the route driver unloads at various stops there is no need to dig for products. Need strong attention to detail to ensure all items are loaded and in the correct order.
Hours: Sunday-Thurs; 4:30pm start time, roughly 45-50/week.
Wage: $20.50, will be at $22 after 90 days, with more increase opportunities at 6 months & 12 months!
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Shift starts with receiving and reviewing the load sheets which dictate what needs to go on the truck
  • In preparation of the night shift picking the loads for that night's trucks, will arrange the pallets and boxes picked by days in order of routes to effectively add in the correct spot with the night orders.
  • Using a pallet map of the trailer, will load products onto the trailer
    • Must load in reverse order of stops so that the pallet for delivery #1 is by the back doors for easy access for the driver
    • Needs to correctly place pallets and boxes from the day shift pickers next to or on top of the pallets for the same stops from the night shift which requires regular lifting and moving of boxes up to 25lbs and hand stacking or placing onto the trailer
    • Ensure all boxes and pallets for that truck are loaded
    • Watch for correct placement of products in relation to the bulkhead which separates frozen from cold, from dry products; incorrect placement can result in wilted product and rejected products
  • Secure the load - ensure that the products are stable and will not shift or roll around the trailer during transport, this includes security load locks
  • Final load checks
    • Will scan temperature tubes and ensure at the correct temperature for products
    • Take a picture of the load
  • Will notify the shag driver that the load is complete

Experience
  • Trailer loading/unloading experience preferred
  • Pallet jack experience preferred
  • Warehouse experience helpful

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 65lbs
