Job description

We are currently looking for a Sweeping Operator for our Night-Shift to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Starting at $17.00 an hour
Schedule:
  • Night-shift 9:30pm - 6:00am.
  • 2 consecutive days off.
  • May include weekends and holidays.
  • Overtime available.

Please visit our location at 3418 N 29th Ave Phoenix, AZ, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 2:00pm. Please note, a 39-Month MVR report is required.
Required Qualifications: 
  • Clean 39-Month MVR Report (NO DUI/DWI - Cannot exceed 3 Pts).
  • A VALID ARIZONA DRIVERS LICENSE IS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION.*
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. (Provided below)
  • Authorized to work in the US. 

Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting and Carrying: regular lift and carry trash bags or use backpack blower (15-20 LBS).
  • Mobility: Standing/Walking for periods of time including getting in and out the vehicle continuously.
  • Environmental exposure: Work outdoors in various weathers.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Operates sweeping vehicle that cleans streets and lots of trash, leaves and other. 
  • Ensures supplies and material handling equipment is secured prior to operating sweeper. 
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle.
  • Ensures vehicle is operating correctly while on the route and notifies Shift Lead/Fleet Mechanic of any concerns.
  • Understands and practices operating best practices.
  • Immediately reports any unsafe situations/service calls to Shift Lead before attempting service.
  • Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and safety meetings as required by the Company.
  • Works closely with Shift Lead/Operation Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify any on-road issues.
  • Performs all duties as scheduled by Shift Lead, assisting other company drivers as directed.
  • Notifies Shift Lead of any incidents/accidents/injures/property damage.
  • Provides a positive professional customer attitude when dealing with customers.
  • Completes job route sheet with information and leaves with customer when required. 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Work experience in the waste, environmental services, energy, or transportation industry.
  • Sweeping experience is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends.

Environmental: 
  • Possible exposure to dust, odors, grease, oil, limited particulates, wet/hot conditions, and noise.
  • Work mostly outside.
