Emergency Room Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Night Shift - Hermitage, TN

Full-Time Charge Role | Night Shift 7PM-7AM | $38.00-$56.95/Hour + Differentials | $20K Sign-On Bonus | $5K Relocation

Lead night shift emergency operations at a 234-bed acute care hospital in Hermitage, Tennessee (Nashville area), featuring a Level III Trauma Center and 22-bed emergency department serving up to 166 patients daily. This Clinical Nurse Coordinator role provides charge nurse leadership with rotating weekends (2 per month, Friday-Sunday) overseeing a team of 73 FTEs. The facility offers comprehensive services including cardiology, oncology, orthopedics/spine, rehabilitation, women's services, Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, and Primary Stroke Center designation. The position reports to the ED Director and Manager with exceptional growth opportunities and fast-track leadership development within the regional healthcare network. Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate all emergency department functions during night shift under supervision of unit director.
  • Assess, monitor, record, report, and follow through on symptoms or changes in patient conditions throughout the shift.
  • Collaborate with management team to conduct ongoing assessment of quality patient care services provided in the emergency department.
  • Create and maintain accurate, detailed reports and records ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and modify care plans based on patient responses.
  • Delegate nursing tasks appropriately and safely while retaining accountability for patient care delivery across 22-bed ED.
  • Provide individualized education for patients, families, and caregivers throughout the continuum of emergency care.
  • Adhere to standards of safety and infection control in delivery of patient care across high-volume emergency setting.
  • Manage patient flow and throughput during night operations with volumes up to 166 patients daily.
  • Serve as clinical resource and mentor for emergency nursing staff during night shift operations.
  • Respond to trauma activations and coordinate Level III Trauma Center care during overnight hours.
  • Support stroke and chest pain protocols ensuring timely interventions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with incoming and outgoing shifts using appropriate hand-off protocols.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Tennessee RN license in good standing or active multi-state compact license
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 3 years of Registered Nurse experience (will consider Psych and ICU experience)
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification - American Heart Association - current
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required within 1 year of employment
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 1 year of employment
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) required within 6 months of employment
  • Ability to work night shift (7PM-7AM) with rotating weekends (2 per month, Friday-Sunday)

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Trauma nursing experience in Level III or higher trauma centers
  • Prior charge nurse or leadership experience in emergency settings
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification

Compensation & Benefits
