Job description

This position will be based out of our Huntsville, AR facility and will operate on a night shift schedule, working from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

Job Summary

Guides the day-to-day activities for a team responsible for Human Resource (HR) tasks. Serves as a strategic partner to the business providing consultative and operational support. Helps implement strategies consistent with the Butterball Way culture and the business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises the day-to-day activities of a team of entry level individual contributors. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful completion of tasks. Participates in HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc. Enforces systems, policies, and procedures.

• Plans, organizes, and guides the administration of department activities, providing technical direction in functional areas of expertise. Promotes HR programs that support team member wellbeing and engagement.

• Administers, helps implement, and ensures consistency in execution of all HR policies, programs, and procedures.

• Assists in the development and administration of Affirmative Action Plans, Equal Employment programs, and other employment-related rules and regulations including unemployment compensation claims, wage and hour, labor, employment eligibility, etc. 

• Conducts investigations, takes appropriate actions, advises managers on appropriate actions, and reviews manager recommendations.

• Provides guidance and coaching to management regarding performance management (promotions, demotions, transfers, leaves of absence, return to work programs, disciplinary programs, and terminations), employee relations, Human Resources policies and procedures, employee benefit programs, and compensation.

•Fosters effective working relationships with leadership team and team members to ensure ability to advise and influence.

• Provides coaching and guidance to leaders and partners to identify strategic solutions to accomplish business goals.

Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience)

• Highschool diploma, GED, or equivalent

• 4+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role

• 1+ year of leadership experience

• Ability to coach, guide, mentor, and support a team

• Ability to foster strong, collaborative relationships and develop strategic solutions to business needs 

• Proven ability to provide guidance and influencing while partnering with corporate leaders to address issues, questions and concerns, responding with urgency to address Human Resources needs  

• Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization 

• Detailed knowledge of the development and execution of HR policies and procedures, as well as local, state and federal employment laws 

• Proven ability to exercise judgment and tact in the application of rules, regulations, policies and procedures in dealing with others in difficult or sensitive situations 

• Strong critical thinking and strategic problem-solving skills and ability to use data to identify solutions  

• Strong computer skills (MS Office, HRIS / SAP) 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in related field

• 2+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

This position will be based out of our Huntsville, AR facility and will operate on a night shift schedule, working from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

• Work will be performed in a variety of conditions including climate-controlled office environment(s); in a manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions, such as cold areas, wet areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions; and in a farm environment including working outdoors in seasonal conditions with live animals and at times in dusty environments. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing and farm environment. This individual may be working around sick or diseased animals where additional precautions may need to be taken.

• The noise level of the office and farm environment is usually moderate. The noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection. Showering in and out of farm locations may be required.

• Occasional travel may be required.
