Job description

Job Title: CNC Machinist
Shift: Night Shift
Job Summary:
Greenville Tool and Die is looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join the team. The individual will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, ensuring precision and quality in the production of components. This role requires a strong understanding of the machining processes and blueprint reading.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand specifications of the tasks at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
  • Configure machines by loading raw materials, installing necessary tools, and adjusting machine parameters (speed, feed, tool settings) based on job specifications.
  • Prepare test runs to check if the machines product outputs are according to specifications.
  • Continuously inspect parts for compliance with specifications using measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
  • Prepare and operate CNC Mills to perform tasks such as drilling, reaming, milling, etc.
  • Keep accurate records of machine settings, parts produced, and any adjustments made during the production process.
  • Machine Class A details within .0005"
  • Maintain cleanliness in work area
  • Always promotes and emphasizes safety.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • CNC Mill experience (three years minimum Okuma or Fanuc preferred)
  • CNC Machinist Journeyman Status or Equivalent
  • Proficient knowledge of common CNC milling techniques and practice
  • Proficiency in writing and interpreting G-codes and M-codes to control CNC machine movements
  • Skilled in reading technical drawings and blueprints to understand the specifications of the parts being manufactured
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Analytical and numerical skills; ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to work with decimals and fractions
  • Use of basic measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.)
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

Physical demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands grip or handle; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work environment: Manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
