Job description

PDW Performance Driven Workforce is now hiring Full Time Electrical Technicians for an Automotive Tier 1 Supplier. The Electrical Technicians will select, measure, and prepare electrical wiring and perform instrument startup, calibration, and function and safety testing on the product. This Full Time Electrical Technician position offers an AM Day shift plus Overtime as needed and based in Allen Park, MI. Candidates meeting the requirements for this Full Time Electrical Technician position below are strongly encouraged to apply. AM Day shift available plus Overtime as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, install, and perform functional and safety tests on wiring using hand tools and proper assembly techniques by following work instructions (prints, cut sheets, sample harnesses)
  • Install lights, brackets, and electrical hardware to special test boxes, automotive components, and vehicles according to specifications
  • Test wiring and components for correct operation using a schematic and diagnostic equipment
  • Perform wiring reworks and repairs on bench and vehicle, crimp and solder, de-pin terminal, create basic schematics and reverse engineer harnesses
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
  • Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up

Shift Schedule:
  • AM Day shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (Monday - Friday, plus Overtime as needed)

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of electrical work experience
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of automotive systems and ability to crimp and solder wires. Proficient with hand and power tools and able to operate vehicle lifts
  • Proficient electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills and the ability to understand electronic schematics and electronic part documentation
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to work overtime and weekends

Preferred Skills:
  • Certificate in Automotive Electrical Technology or related
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience installing components on circuit boards
  • Experience with automotive powertrain systems or electric battery systems
  • Knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, component materials amp; fasteners
