Job description

We are seeking a friendly, dependable Night Auditor to join our front desk team at Hotel Eastlund. This is primarily a guest-service position with basic overnight audit responsibilities. The Night Auditor oversees front desk operations during the overnight shift, assists guests with check-in and check-out, responds to guest questions and concerns, completes the hotel’s End of Day process, and prepares the front desk for the next business day. Because this position often works independently, reliability, good judgment, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills are essential. Respond to guest questions, concerns, and requests throughout the night. Complete the End of Day process, required overnight reports, and the Night Audit checklist Review daily transactions and address or report discrepancies. Verify guest identification and ensure established credit and payment procedures are followed. • Review arrivals, reservations, rates, packages, and special requests. Pre-assign rooms for VIPs, repeat guests, packages, and special requests. • Process reservation changes and cancellations accurately. Monitor room availability, occupancy, and hotel activity throughout the shift. Maintain accurate room-status information and communicate changes to the appropriate departments. Answer telephone calls promptly and provide complete and accurate information. Provide information about hotel amenities, transportation, dining, attractions, and local events. Resolve guest concerns professionally and involve management when appropriate. Maintain accurate records of guest interactions, reservations, and property-management system activity. Follow established key-control, data-security, safety, and emergency procedures. Communicate effectively with other hotel employees by telephone, radio, and written shift notes. Document and submit lost-and-found items according to hotel procedures. Prepare accurate information for the incoming morning team. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Previous hotel front desk, Night Audit, or customer-service experience is preferred.Experience with OPERA or another hotel property-management system is helpful.Strong customer-service and guest-relations skills.Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during overnight hours.Ability to multitask and remain professional during difficult or unexpected situations.Strong attention to detail and the ability to enter information accurately.Basic math and transaction-reconciliation skills.Ability to communicate professionally by telephone, radio, and in person.Bilingual or multilingual skills are helpful but not required.Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.Reliable and punctual attendance.This is an onsite position.
