Job description

About Company:

Hotel Phoenix rises at “Mile 0,” the historic terminus of the Western & Atlantic Railway and the very location of Atlanta’s founding. With its commanding presence at the gateway and centerpoint of Centennial Yards — one of the most ambitious new developments in Atlanta’s history — it signals a new era for a downtown that has long been neglected.

Hotel Phoenix is a bold, unapologetic statement of forward-looking confidence. It is the hotel Centennial Yards and downtown Atlanta deserves — a future-reaching hospitality experience inspired by the unique character, culture, and heritage of its location.

A standard-setting luxury hospitality experience, Hotel Phoenix is glamorous, world-class, and unmistakably of this place. It isn’t “Atlanta-themed;” it’s Atlanta revealed. True Southern hospitality without the clichés: anticipatory, proper, and delivered with warmth, charm, and sincerity.

About the Role:

The PHO - Night Security Officer Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of personnel, property, and assets during overnight hours across various facilities in the United States. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of night security officers, ensuring compliance with established security protocols and emergency procedures. The supervisor will conduct regular inspections, manage incident reports, and serve as the primary point of contact for security-related issues during the night shift. By leading a team of security officers, the supervisor ensures a vigilant and responsive security presence that deters unauthorized access and promptly addresses any security breaches. Ultimately, this role contributes to maintaining a secure environment that supports the organization's operational continuity and protects its stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in security operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Valid security officer license or certification as required by state regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and relevant legal requirements.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and remain alert during extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a healthcare, corporate, or industrial security environment.
  • First aid, CPR, and AED certification.
  • Proficiency with security technology such as surveillance systems, access control, and incident reporting software.
  • Demonstrated leadership training or certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of night security officers to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Conduct routine patrols and inspections of facilities to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, providing leadership and direction to security personnel.
  • Prepare and review detailed incident and activity reports, ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication with management.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate security staff performance to uphold high standards of professionalism and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards related to security operations.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as necessary to address security incidents.
  • Manage scheduling and shift assignments to maintain adequate security coverage throughout the night.

Skills:

The role requires strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate a team of night security officers, ensuring clear instructions and support during critical situations. Attention to detail and observational skills are essential for conducting thorough patrols and identifying potential security threats before they escalate. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities are frequently applied when responding to incidents, requiring quick assessment and appropriate action. Technical skills are utilized daily to operate and monitor security systems, document incidents accurately, and maintain compliance with reporting standards. Additionally, interpersonal skills facilitate collaboration with law enforcement, emergency personnel, and internal stakeholders to maintain a cohesive security strategy.
