Job description

Midwest Foods is a wholesale food distributor providing top quality food products to numerous food establishments in Chicago, surrounding suburbs, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana. We import fruits and vegetables from all over the world and distribute these products to local markets. We are looking to complement our growth by hiring a Night Warehouse Supervisor.

The Night Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all warehouse facilities, departments and equipment and ensure all functions are performed in adherence to company guidelines and protocols.

Reports to: Warehouse Manager and Operations

Schedule: Sun-Fri 4pm-12:30a

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with shipping workflow and warehouse operations, ensuring safety and monitoring productivity
  • Assign tasks and oversee warehouse associates across 5-8 departments (100+employees)
  • Maintain and adhere to shipping/receiving schedules, prioritizing inventory management, quality control and forecasting
  • Assist with space allocation and staging areas, ensure that warehouse employees are following procedures and using work resources and equipment efficiently
  • Act as a point of contact for Warehouse Manager, address and escalate employee issues to upper management, if necessary
  • Ensure regular preventative maintenance is performed on equipment and tools, report any issues/malfunctions to managerย 
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records
  • Assist in employee performance evaluations, issue disciplinary notices, complete post-accident procedures, etc.
  • Other duties and tasks, as assigned by Night Warehouse Manager

Requirements:

  • 3 years of warehouse management experience, preferably in the produce industry
  • Availability to work night shift and holidays
  • Experience operating forklift or EPJ (preferred)
  • Strong order fulfillment and outbound shipping experience; proficiency with NetSuite WMS or similar warehouse management systems preferred
  • Previous experience overseeing 100+ employees across multiple departments
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work in cold warehouse environments.
