Job description

Job Title: Mortgage Servicing / Compliance Review Analyst

Pay Rate: $28/hr to $31/hr on W2

Location: Cincinnati, OH (100% Onsite)

Duration: 6 Months

Role Overview

The Mortgage Servicing Consultant is responsible for performing detailed reviews of mortgage documents, ensuring regulatory compliance, validating servicing accuracy, and supporting all processes across payment collection, escrow management, foreclosure, loss mitigation, bankruptcy handling, and FEMA-impacted loan servicing. This role requires strong analytical ability, deep mortgage servicing knowledge, and strict adherence to compliance and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review mortgage documents to ensure correct servicing processes are followed.

  • Validate 1098/1099 documents and ensure rate adjustments are calculated correctly and communicated within regulatory timelines.

  • Audit bankruptcy documentation to confirm correct handling of loans in bankruptcy stages.

  • Check payment posting accuracy according to the Note and applicable regulations.

  • Review claims filed with mortgage insurance providers to confirm proper documentation.

  • Audit processes for missed payments, borrower solicitation, notices, and soft credit report pulls.

  • Validate correct escrow account functions and transaction accuracy.

  • Review FEMA-impacted loan files to ensure appropriate assistance and compliance.

  • Audit foreclosure processes for regulatory accuracy and timely completion.

  • Validate proper servicing of monitored and unmonitored hazard insurance claims.

  • Review Lender Placed Insurance (LPI) notices, placement, and removals.

  • Confirm Loss Mitigation processes are followed, all eligible programs offered, and finalization timelines met.

  • Review payoff accuracy and lien release process completion.

  • Audit loan transfers to verify correct record movement and documentation.

  • Maintain service-level standards and adhere to internal checklists and procedures.

  • Respond promptly to communications and support team operations.

Required Experience

  • 2–3 years minimum of U.S. mortgage servicing experience.

  • Strong understanding of mortgage servicing processes, documentation, and loan terminology.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.

  • Ability to resolve complex servicing issues independently.

  • Proficiency with MS Office tools.

  • Customer-focused and deadline-driven.

  • Flexible to work night shifts.
