Job description

Night Auditor

The Night Auditor is the heartbeat of the hotel overnight. You're part front desk, part financial reconciler, and entirely the guest's first and last impression of the day. This role is responsible for balancing all daily transactions, closing out the business day in the property management system, and making sure every guest who walks through the door after hours feels genuinely welcomed and cared for. If you're someone who takes pride in accuracy, stays calm under pressure, and enjoys being the person guests can count on — this role is for you.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following is a representative list of duties and is not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned.

Night Audit and Financial Reconciliation
  • Run and complete the nightly audit in the property management system (PMS), balancing all daily revenue transactions including room charges, payments, and adjustments.
  • Prepare and distribute the daily revenue report and any other operational reports required by management.
  • Identify, research, and resolve billing discrepancies; escalate unresolved issues with clear documentation.
  • Ensure all accounts are properly posted and closed before generating end-of-day reports.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with hotel policies and Marriott brand standards.
Front Desk and Guest Services
  • Serve as the sole front desk associate during overnight hours — handle check-ins, check-outs, and reservations with efficiency and warmth.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns; resolve issues with a solution-first mindset.
  • Answer phone calls professionally, take accurate messages, and route inquiries appropriately.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel amenities, local area attractions, and brand loyalty programs to assist guests.
Safety and Property Monitoring
  • Conduct regular security walks of the property throughout the shift; report any incidents, safety concerns, or maintenance issues immediately.
  • Monitor entrances and public areas to ensure the safety and security of guests and associates.
  • Follow all emergency procedures and escalate situations appropriately.
What You Bring

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
  • Experience with hotel property management systems or similar software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial data.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts independently and reliably.

Preferred:

  • Previous night audit or hotel front desk experience strongly preferred.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Hospitality, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • This position is based on property in Bentonville, AR.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position at the front desk for extended periods while frequently operating a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct security walks, assist guests, inspect public areas, and respond to operational needs.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds, including guest luggage, office supplies, or packages.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and navigate stairs as needed while performing property inspections or assisting guests.
  • Requires visual acuity to review financial reports, reservation details, and computer screens, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
  • Work is performed in a hotel environment with regular exposure to guests, noise from public areas, and varying activity levels during overnight operations.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation: PAH Management offers a competitive base salary/pay commensurate with experience.

Benefits include:
