Description

Maintains safe and secure environment for patients and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. EOE

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in all campus / staff / patient concerns related to safety and security
    • Maintain order within the facility and enforce hospital rules and regulations.
    • Make suggestions / recommendations to supervisor to improve safety and security on campus.
    • Assure all doors are locked as required and areas secured.
    • Check out vehicles/persons that may not belong on campus and report accordingly.
    • Conduct security patrols throughout campus.
    • Proficient in video surveillance and reviewing of recorded tape, when required.
    • Skilled and timely use of radio or telephone communication to police, fire or emergency agencies as the situation dictates.
    • Proficient in the use of ECS radio system and telephone communication.
    • Advises Security Director of deficiencies noted and suggests changes.
    • Notify Director of all lights that need replacing.
  • Manning of the Security Booth
    • Direct and monitor all visitors entering and leaving campus via the Visitor App
    • Monitor CCTV inside the booth
  • Provide support and assistance to nursing supervisor on scheduled shift
    • Assist with management of patient disturbances in conjunction with and/or at direction of Nursing Supervisor.
    • Assist Police Officers when they are called to campus.
    • Oversee Parole Officer's removal of patients for violation.
    • Obtain belongings and keys from Admissions' safe for AMA/other discharge patients.
    • Initiate search of patients / units / vehicles as needed.
  • Conduct fire drills as assigned and record results on forms provided; report deficiencies to the Security Director.
  • Provides shift summary to by email to defined mailing list.
Qualifications

Qualifications: One to three years security experience required HS diploma / GED required Ability to communicate well with both patients and staff Ability to take charge in difficult situations and have good decision making skills Knowledge of safe working practices
