Job Title: Communications & Marketing Specialist
Location: Preferably Burkina Faso, Cote D'Ivoire, DRC, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Niger, Tanzania or Uganda

Your Impact: As the Communications & Marketing Specialist, you will support the global communications and fundraising functions at Pathfinder International. Reporting to the Communications Director, you will support the development of communications products and organization of events, as well as digital content for the website, social media channels, and fundraising campaigns. Under the guidance of the Communications Director and Development Marketing Advisor, the Communication & Marketing Specialist will support the elevation of Pathfinder's brand among key audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Communications Support:
  • Provide editorial support to country teams, including but not limited to content development for blogs, stories, 1-pagers, briefs, and other materials
  • Graphics/visuals development for various audiences, including donors, partners, and media
  • Proofreading/copy editing

External Engagement:
  • Supports Pathfinder's engagement in high-priority global conferences. This includes working with partners to coordinate panels and events, events promotion, delegation preparation and support conference follow-up

Digital Marketing:
  • Support the execution of marketing campaigns across digital channels, including email, social media, and website content.
  • Update and manage website content through the CMS, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and user-friendly navigation.
  • Apply basic SEO best practices to digital content to improve search visibility.
  • Support email marketing efforts, including drafting, formatting, and scheduling communications
  • Support on digital advertising campaigns and onboarding processes
  • Monitor campaign performance and compile basic reports on key metrics (e.g., engagement, traffic, email performance)

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field required
  • 1-3 years of experience in communications and marketing
  • Basic knowledge of contemporary software applications for design (Canva, Adobe products) and web-based solutions and apps, specifically content management systems.
  • Proven ability to manage and implement cross-functional initiatives. This includes the ability to effectively synthesize and coordinate the work of others.
  • Ability to focus on all areas of a project and execute a task to high standards.
  • Proven ability to influence using diplomacy skills with key stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a matrixed, international organization
  • Experience working in the global development field
  • Fluency in French, Portuguese or Arabic
  • Experience with non-USAID-funded projects
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality on work-related issues
