Job description

The Retail Banker is responsible for originating or assisting in the origination of, permanent FHA/VA and residential mortgage loans. Provides a full range of banking services to individual customers such as personal financial counseling, lending and customer service.
As a Retail Banker, you will:
  • Provide service to customers and prospective customers seeking residential mortgage/consumer loans. Interview applicants to develop information concerning their needs and earnings. Obtain and analyze pertinent financial and credit data.
  • Market and solicit retail services to present to potential customers. Open checking and savings accounts to obtain complete relationships.
  • Analyze credit and financial information to make mortgage, installment, and loan to decisions on behalf of Nicolet Bank.
  • Make prudent loan decisions up to credit limit and/or involve manager.
  • Provide customer services on assigned accounts, opening new accounts, and answering questions concerning deposit accounts, loans, statements, etc.
  • Call on potential or existing customers to develop new business or retaining existing business, including real estate professional and builders.
  • Cross sells a full range of retail services to present and potential customers.
  • Represent the bank in various community functions to further enhance its image and develop additional business.
  • Uphold Nicolet's philosophy and policies by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, thereby fulfilling legal responsibilities and enhancing the quality of services provided by Nicolet.
  • Understand and communicate the value of diversity within the workplace and to work successfully with others without regard to age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, culture, religion, disability status, socioeconomic status or other non-job-related classification, including a commitment to Nicolet's policies on equal employment opportunities and non-discrimination with a willingness to pursue efforts of inclusion and respect toward different perspectives.

Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Finance, Business Administration, Business Management, Accounting, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of retail lending experience.
  • PC, phone system, general office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
