GFT is seeking a Transportation Construction Supervisor (TCIS) to join our Construction Services Team in Ebensburg, PA Central and Western PA area! This role follows a remote work schedule, where work is mostly done on-site.

What you’ll be challenged to do:
This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The role highlights a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results on every project. 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Supervise inspection to assure that contractors build a quality construction project.

  • Perform assigned duties to specific activities to assure plans, specifications, standards and Q.C. Plans are adhered to.

  • Comply with the District and project specific overtime requirements.

  • Meet with the Department Project Engineer/ Manager/ Supervisor or Consultant Manager/ Supervisor daily, or as required, to receive instructions and assignments.

  • Complete PSA’s and work sheets daily.

  • Request from Manager/ Supervisor assistance for any instruction or assignment in the inspection of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with contract requirements and established standards. 

  • Participates in daily huddles with field staff.


What you will bring to our firm:
  • One (1) year minimum PennDOT experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI-3) or higher and has all three (3) certifications: PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification, NECEPT Field Technician Certification, and NICET Level II Certification or higher in Highway Construction, only NICET Certifications in Highway Construction are allowed unless special circumstances of other NICET subfields are requested for Central Office approval.

Or

  • One (1) year minimum PennDOT experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI-3) or higher and has attained NICET Level III Certification or higher in Highway Construction, only NICET Certifications in Highway Construction are allowed unless special circumstances of other NICET subfields are requested for Central Office approval and either PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification or NECEPT Field Technician Certification.

Or

  • Three (3) years minimum PennDOT experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI-3) or higher, and has two (2) of the following three (3) certifications: PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification, NECEPT Field Technician Certification, or NICET Level II Certification or higher in Highway Construction, only NICET Certifications in Highway Construction are allowed unless special circumstances of other NICET subfields are requested for Central Office approval.

Or

  • Five (5) years minimum transportation, highway or bridge construction inspection experience and must have all three (3) Certs: PennDOT Concrete Tech., and NECEPT Field Tech., and NICET Level III Certification OR NICET Level IV in Highway Construction, will cover all needed certifications. Only NICET Certifications in Highway Construction are allowed unless special circumstances of other NICET subfields are requested for Central Office approval.

Or

  • Six (6) years minimum of transportation, highway or bridge construction inspection supervision/management experience acceptable to the Department.

Or

  • One (1) year minimum of transportation, highway or bridge construction inspection supervision/management experience while employed by PennDOT.
  • Or
  • Holds an active Professional Engineer’s License.

What we prefer you bring: 

  • A Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management may be substituted for four (4) years of experience, or an Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management may be substituted for two (2) years of experience. A Certified Construction Manager certification through CMAA may be substituted for four (4) years of experience.
 
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $35.00-$37.00 hourly. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
