About the Role

Principal Software Engineer – Web3 Engineering

What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, and operate core services for DriveWealth Web3 Platform (DW3).
  • Build highly performant, fault‑tolerant, and secure distributed systems supporting digital asset transactions and crypto wallet operations.
  • Develop API‑first services integrating blockchain networks, service providers, and financial systems.
  • Implement event‑driven architectures using Kafka and asynchronous messaging patterns.
  • Build transaction orchestration, reconciliation, settlement, and asset movement workflows.
  • Develop secure services leveraging cryptographic signatures, key management, and authentication controls embracing zero‑trust principles.
  • Maintain and produce technical documentation and testing frameworks within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Improve platform observability through metrics, tracing, logging, and OpenTelemetry instrumentation.
  • Optimize application performance, resiliency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, technical leadership, and delivery best practices.
What You’ll Need
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience building production systems in regulated financial environments following enterprise‑grade and best practices.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience with TypeScript, Java, JavaScript, Spring Boot, Node.js, and NestJS.
  • Experience building Web3 platforms, wallet infrastructure, or blockchain‑integrated applications. Proven experience using Web3.js, Ethers.js, WebJ, and blockchain SDKs.
  • First‑hand experience delivering highly available, strong consistency, and high‑throughput distributed applications at scale. Strong expertise in concurrent, multi‑threaded, and asynchronous programming.
  • Deep understanding of API‑first architectures, microservices, and distributed systems design.
  • Strong experience with Apache Kafka, event streaming, and asynchronous processing patterns. Understand pub/sub and production‑consumer messaging patterns.
  • Experience building and operating resilient, scalable, and secure cloud‑native applications.
  • Expertise implementing REST APIs, service contracts, and integration frameworks.
  • Experience implementing cryptographic signatures and secure communications between services.
  • Experience and familiarity with AI‑assisted development and AI tools.
  • Hands‑on experience with OpenTelemetry, observability platforms, and production monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps, software security, and secure SDLC practices.
  • Strong commitment to engineering quality practices including automated testing, CI/CD validation, code reviews, and test‑driven development methodologies.
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated unit, integration, and functional testing frameworks within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience producing architecture documentation, API specifications, operational runbooks, and engineering standards.
  • Proven experience providing L2/L3 production support for business‑critical systems, including incident management, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Nice to Have
  • Hands‑on experience with Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, XRPL, or other distributed ledger technologies.
  • Knowledge of blockchain transaction processing, smart contracts, and consensus mechanisms.
  • Experience building custody, wallet, or digital asset transfer platforms.
  • Familiarity with MPC, HSMs, key management systems, and cryptographic controls.
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust security architectures.
  • Knowledge of tokenization, stablecoins, settlement systems, and digital asset operations.
  • Contributions to open‑source blockchain projects.
Location & Work Arrangement

New York City Metro – 3 days/week in‑office. Chicago Metro – 3 days/week in‑office. Candidates not based in one of these metros are not eligible for this role. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
