A NIBIN technician is a specialist who operates the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) system to analyze and compare ballistic evidence, such as bullets and cartridge casings, from crime scenes. Their work helps law enforcement agencies link firearms to crimes by entering ballistic data into NIBIN and searching for potential matches. NIBIN technicians often work in crime labs or law enforcement agencies and play a crucial role in solving gun-related crimes.
