Job Title: Environmental Service Worker
Location: RWJUH Hamilton Hospital

Pay Range: $16.00 - $18.35 per hour
Pay Transparency:
The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
To maintain a clean, disease, and germ-free environment, as well an overall pleasant environmental atmosphere for our patients, visitors and staff by performing proper environmental services techniques.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
  • High School graduate or GED preferred
  • One year experience preferred

Scheduling Requirements:
  • Full-Time Night - 11pm- 7am
    Rotating Weekends and holidays

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for maintaining a dust-free environment
  • Readily demonstrates knowledge & accepts assignments of thoroughly cleaning bed/mattress
  • Responsible for patient satisfaction, room cleanliness
  • Responsible for sanitation in the department
  • Responsible for the area assigned daily before and after shift
  • Readily accepts all assignments in any location & performs thoroughly all tasks assigned
  • Performs daily sanitation of all rest rooms
  • Readily applies knowledge of cleaning steps to assure all service is thorough
  • Readily demonstrates floor care knowledge
  • Readily demonstrates chemical usage and proper usage
  • Readily demonstrates cleanliness of carts and closets without daily reminders
  • Works independently on a daily basis
  • Ability to work with other staff members on a daily basis
  • Ability to demonstrate the hospitals five star standards on a daily basis
  • Ability to produce written and verbal reports to the department director as needed
  • Responsible for the upkeep for department logs
  • Follows daily and weekly cleaning schedule
  • Minimizes waste and over production
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all equipment
  • Responsible to participate in council meetings as designated by the department director
  • Responsible to attend other department meetings as requested by the director
  • Responsible to assist in the setting up and breaking down of all special functions both internal and external
