What You Will Do:
We are currently searching foraskilledRegistered Nursewith clinical research experienceto fill aResearch NurseSpecialistpositionthat willmeetthe overalloperationalobjectivesof the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) through the provision of research support services.TheResearch Nurse Specialist willfunction within a team of clinical providers and research support staff to support the coordination and execution of NHLBI'sresearch protocolsandclinical trialswithinthe specialty areas ofhematology-oncology, cardiology, pulmonary, sickle cell disease, vascular medicine, and cellular therapy.This is a full-time opportunitylocatedin Bethesda, MD.

  • Workwith a diverseclinical research team includingphysicians, advanced practice providers, patient care coordinators,protocol navigators, anddata managers tosupport the coordination ofclinicalresearch studies.

  • Coordinate clinical research activities to meet thestudyprotocol requirements and manage the research participant's experience throughout the life cycle of a study.

  • Educate andcounselpatientsparticipatingin research studies, including followingup with patients in long-term studies.

  • Facilitate patient recruitment and enrollment into ongoingresearch studies.

  • Support compliancewith protocol regulatory requirements.

  • Manage clinical research data andsupportdata quality assurance.


What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor'sdegreein nursingor related fieldwith atleast 4 years of nursing experience.

  • Active, current license as a Registered Nurse in the United States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

  • Minimum 2+ years of experienceina Researchsetting,includingclinicalresearchcoordination.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Clinical Research certification preferred.

  • Nursing experience in cardiology,pulmonary,hematology-oncology, vascular medicine, and/or sickle cell diseasepreferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced, high-acuity research environments.

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
