Job description

The Indianapolis Colts are seeking an experienced Director of International to lead the Indianapolis Colts global markets strategy in alignment with the team's overall mission, values and long-term growth priorities. This position will play a key role in expanding the Colts brand to international markets, as part of the NFL's Global Markets Program, and will work collaboratively with ownership, the executive team, football operations and communications, and all business verticals to drive fan engagement and growth in the team's international markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of International's specific responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute an annual business plan for each of the club's international markets with a focus on driving fan engagement and audience growth through a variety of initiatives, including:
    • Digital/social content development and distribution
    • Events and in-market activations
    • Earned media
    • Civic and community partnerships
    • Influencer marketing
    • Licensed merchandise (in partnership with Fanatics)
    • Player and Alumni engagement
    • Flag Football Camps and Programming
  • Establish annual goals and KPIs as part of the business plan, and oversee key tools and systems to track progress.
  • Oversee agency, ambassador and consultant partnerships in the team's international markets to support the annual marketing and activation plan and advise the team on their international strategy.
  • Collaborate with the NFL's Global Markets staff and agency partners to cultivate media relationships and develop a year-round media strategy that drives coverage and storytelling opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand game access in the club's international markets, including pre-season game broadcasts and regular season streaming with the NFL's broadcast partners.
  • Develop and manage the annual international marketing calendar, leveraging league inventory and Colts owned-and-operated channels to maximize reach and drive engagement.
  • Oversee an internal working committee around tentpole international campaigns and games, to ensure cross-departmental support of international efforts.
    • Work across all key business verticals to integrate them into the international strategy and foster a collaborative effort toward business growth in these markets (e.g. content and production, corporate partnership, analytics and digital innovation, etc.)
  • Collaborate closely with the team's Mascot Specialist to develop and execute a year-round international strategy for Blue, including content, appearances and fan engagement.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders locally and in the club's international markets to drive our business priorities.
  • Support the team's corporate partnership staff in identifying opportunities for revenue growth as part of the team's multi-year strategy.
  • Work closely with the NFL's International staff on all elements of our Global Markets Program and serve as the primary point of contact for all club international marketing efforts.
  • Develop and manage the club's annual international marketing budget as well as activation budgets for any Colts international games. etc.
  • Build the club's long-term strategy for continued international growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in a related field.
  • Previous experience with international relations/marketing/business preferred.
  • Sports experience required.
  • Previous multi-functional agency experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand local market dynamics, cultural nuances, and fan behaviors across international markets. Commitment to a collaborative and team-focused approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong project management skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally (minimum of 4-6 times per year).
  • Ability to multi-task and think quickly on one's feet using independent judgment.
  • Ability to innovate and think creatively.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours periodically as needed based on the team's events, including all home games.
