Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Next Step, your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, and restoring functional movement.
• Conducting thorough initial evaluations that assess patients' physical capabilities through diagnostic testing and functional performance assessments.
• Monitoring and guiding the treatment process by supervising Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring adherence to established care plans and therapy protocols.
• Administering a variety of therapy techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, traction, and application of physical agents.
• Engaging in regular consultations with the interdisciplinary team to adjust care strategies based on patients' progress and feedback.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously through clinical records, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Advising patients and their families on home exercise programs and rehabilitation tools for sustained recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patients primarily consist of orthopedic rehabilitation cases, including post-operative recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A valid State License in Physical Therapy, allowing practice within Florida.
• A minimum of two years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy settings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for interacting with patients and working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer skills to manage documentation and communication efficiently.

Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is two years of experience in the field, preference will be given to candidates with specialized training in orthopedic rehabilitation, hands-on manual therapy techniques, or advanced certifications. Additional experience with community resource utilization and interdisciplinary teamwork will further enhance your application.
