Today, this promise lives at the center of the brand's award-winning editorial work, fast-growing business divisions, innovative new products, and partner solutions.

We are looking for changemakers from all backgrounds who are aligned with TIME's core values and energized by the opportunity to build something meaningful at an organization with a century of trust behind it and its most exciting chapter still ahead.

The Role:

This role will be responsible for generating and closing newsletter-specific advertising revenue across TIMEโ€™s newsletter products. The person in this seat should be highly fluent in the newsletter ad market, comfortable working with agency and brand-side buyers, and energized by a more hands-on, execution-oriented sales motion centered on direct response and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and grow advertising revenue across TIMEโ€™s newsletter portfolio, with a 100% dedicated focus on newsletter sales
  • Prospect, pitch, and close new business with advertisers and agencies that actively buy newsletter media, particularly buyers focused on direct response and lower-funnel performance
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of newsletter-specific opportunities across key categories and accounts
  • Develop a strong understanding of TIMEโ€™s newsletter audience, inventory, formats, performance positioning, and advertiser fit
  • Lead day-to-day sales conversations with media buyers, planners, and marketing decision-makers
  • Package and sell newsletter opportunities in a clear, tactical, performance-oriented way rooted in advertiser objectives and expected outcomes
  • Partner closely with internal strategy, ad ops, and revenue stakeholders to ensure smooth handoff, execution, and renewal opportunities
  • Maintain accurate pipeline tracking, forecast updates, and account notes in CRM and other internal systems
  • Monitor market activity, buyer needs, and newsletter advertising trends to help sharpen TIMEโ€™s go-to-market approach for this channel

Qualifications:

  • 5โ€“8+ years of experience in digital media sales, newsletter advertising, performance media, or a related revenue role
  • Direct experience selling newsletter advertising, with a clear understanding of how newsletter buyers think, evaluate inventory, and measure success
  • Experience calling on newsletter advertisers and buyers in a tactical, performance-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to generate pipeline and close business in a focused sales role, ideally within digital publishing, media, or audience products
  • Strong familiarity with direct response advertising, campaign performance conversations, and buyer expectations around execution and results
  • Clear, confident communicator who is comfortable leading practical, day-to-day client conversations with buyers and planners
  • Adept at managing and fostering positive, stakeholder relationships amongst editorial, finance, product and sales enablement
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and motivated by revenue accountability and measurable goals
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving environment with a focused product scope
  • Enthusiastic about innovation, AI-adoption, positive-change and collaboration

Note: This position is not represented by the NewsGuild of New York.

Location:

This is a hybrid role. Eligible candidates for the role must be within a commutable distance of TIMEโ€™s New York City office upon hire and may be expected to be physically present as needed.
