Job description

OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox TV Stations
FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The content generation team at FOX 26 is re-imagining how local news is gathered, presented and disseminated, across multiple platforms with a keen emphasis on streaming/CTV. We no longer wait for appointed times to deliver content. We're a 24/7 LIVE/HAPPENING NOW & AUTHENTIC STREAMING FIRST news organization.
As we continue to evolve, we're hiring a Weekend Anchor / Reporter who has a passion for creating content across live streaming news programs, digital news sites, social media, and linear TV.
In this role, you'll anchor weekend streaming hours. During the week, your focus will be reporting across multiple platforms and filling in behind the desk as needed.
Here's what you'll need to be successful in this role:
  • A streaming and digital first mindset, that has evolved beyond TV news constructs. You're not talking about your plan for the 5pm or 6pm newscast. You're talking about how you will deliver content NOW and throughout the day on FOX Local.
  • You ditched the "anchor voice" long ago and you've mastered a more authentic style of delivery that doesn't rely on a teleprompter. In fact, we don't even use teleprompters in our 7 hours of daily live streaming news.
  • You already understand and execute non-traditional storytelling formats using video, text, graphics, and music. And you create that content for live streaming, website and social platforms in a way that can later be repurposed for linear.
  • You're totally cool never doing a TV news package again. We don't want them and our creators are learning to tell stories with less formality, more authenticity (no "anchor voices") and in ways that are tailored specifically to platform.
  • You've already created a significant social footprint across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Your content is rooted in news, not just selfies and vacation photos.

You must have at least 5 years of experience as an anchor and reporter in a professional news operation. Candidates who have experience hosting unscripted, live news streaming programs will really get our attention. This is not an entry-level position or a position for candidates who do not have a news gathering background.
We're a 24/7 news operation, so you must be able to work non-traditional hours, including early morning or late-night shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable law.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $110,000.00-120,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
