Fabricator (Structural & Miscellaneous Steel)
Location: Initial training in Raleigh, NC | Permanent location in Durham, NC (Moving July 2026)
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $25.00 / hour (Up to $26.00/hour based on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Target Start Date: Mid-July 2026
Job Summary
We are seeking 6 to 7 skilled and motivated Fabricators to join our growing team. This is an exciting time to jump aboard, as our operations are expanding and relocating to a brand-new facility in Durham this July.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with provable structural or miscellaneous steel fabrication experience. You must be a master of layout fitting, possess strong blueprint reading skills, and have the flexibility to commute to Raleigh for the initial transition before settling into our permanent Durham plant.
Key Responsibilities
  • Layout & Fitting: Perform precise layout, fitting, and assembly of structural and miscellaneous steel components based on technical drawings.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret complex blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering specifications accurately to ensure exact fabrications.
  • Welding & Fabrication: Utilize MIG and/or TIG welding techniques on carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum as required by project specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect finished workpieces to ensure compliance with strict industry standards and structural integrity.
  • Material Handling: Safely handle, position, and align heavy steel components throughout the fabrication process.
Role Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Direct experience working with structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals in a production or job shop environment.
  • Technical Skills: Robust, provable skills in blueprint reading and layout fitting (candidates will be vetted for these skills).
  • Welding Background: Strong proficiency in MIG or TIG welding; experience working with aluminum or stainless steel is highly valued.
  • Commute Flexibility: Ability and willingness to drive to both Raleigh and Durham during the mid-summer facility relocation.
  • Process Knowledge: A deep, fundamental understanding of how the overall fabrication process flows from raw material to finished product.
Preferred Qualifications ("Nice-to-Haves")
  • Hands-on experience operating fabrication shop equipment, including:
    • Press brakes and shears
    • Band saws
    • CNC beam lines / fabrication equipment (e.g., Vortman)
