New Leaf Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and fully licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our passionate team working to improve mental health services in Jersey City, New Jersey. As a Mental Health Counselor at New Leaf Counseling Center, you will have the flexibility to work remotely while predominantly communicating and collaborating with your team via virtual platforms. While our main operations are remote, you will be part of a nurturing and compassionate community that prioritizes client well-being. Our regular business hours include occasional evening shifts, enabling us to provide comprehensive care to our clients, ensuring we are available when they need us most.

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify clients' mental health needs, tailoring individualized treatment plans that align with their specific goals.
• Provide evidence-based therapy services through modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness techniques, and group therapy, depending on client needs.
• Collaborate with case managers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals, utilizing an integrated care approach to ensure every aspect of a client’s health is addressed.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies effectively to support clients experiencing acute distress during emergency situations.
• Participate in various community outreach initiatives to promote mental health awareness, destigmatize mental health issues, and educate the public on available resources.

• A valid and active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology is required.
• Successful applicants will demonstrate exceptional communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness, fostering rapport with clients to build therapeutic alliances.
• Ability to exhibit cultural sensitivity and competence in working with individuals from various backgrounds, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity in your practice.
• Strong organizational abilities and time-management skills are essential for maintaining accurate clinical documentation and managing multiple client cases efficiently.

While we welcome newly licensed professionals, candidates with a proven track record in community mental health settings or those with experience using telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems will have a distinct advantage. The salary range for this position is competitive, between USD 70,000 and 100,000 annually, depending on experience and credentials.
