Akaal Pet Hospital is hiring a Veterinarian for our full-service animal hospital located in Citrus Heights, CA that sees cats & dogs. Open to part-time or full-time inquiries.

Akaal Pet Hospital is clean, organized, and equipped with advanced tools and technologies to provide the highest standard of care a variety of cases. We have perfected the art of work-life balance while delivering exceptional customer service. Our community relies on and highly respects us as a trusted animal hospital and we are hiring another part-time DVM to work alongside the clinic’s full-time and well-established Medical Director. Some of our services that clients rely on include orthopedic, soft tissue, reconstructive, and oncologic surgery. We have a big focus on pet wellness and preventative cases providing vaccinations, microchipping, dental care, behavior counseling, check-ups, lab work, testing, and a comprehensive online pharmacy.

Akaal Animal Hospital has retained dedicated staff with excellent patient care, client communication, and teamwork which makes it a great environment for a veterinarian to fully utilize their medicine and surgery skills. Currently, we have our well‑equipped Medical Director, and we are in a great place to welcome an experienced or new grad veterinarian interested in incredible mentorship, or more experienced DVM looking to build out their unique client‑base with their skills.

  • Practice type: small animal general practice with focus on pet wellness and preventative medicine, with a strong and varied Sx caseload.
  • Avg. daily patient volume: ~12 per DVM
  • Support staff ratio: ~3 : 1 per DVM
  • Case mix: Mix of GP Wellness, and exotics with soft‑tissue, orthopedic, reconstructive and oncologic Sx procedures and dentistry.
  • Technology & equipment: Ultrasound, digital radiographs (regular and dental), in‑house lab machines (CBC, Chemistries, Urine, Vcheck (in‑house, quantifiable spec fPL and Cardiopet proBNP).
  • Team culture: Staff have been a part of the Citrus Heights community for 8 years and we are known for our excellent care and our dedicated, professional, and courteous staff! We are dedicated to excellent patient care, client communication, and teamwork which makes it a great environment for a veterinarian to fully utilize their medicine and surgery skills. Currently, we have multiple techs and assistants and one highly skilled, hardworking, and kind DVM's.
