Job description

Noom is on a mission to help people live better, longer. We're a consumer-led digital health company, connecting people to content, coaching, community, and clinicians to build lasting habits and live healthier lives. We're a high-growth organization powered by science, technology, and world-class talent. When you join Noom, on any team, you'll see the impact of your work on the world.

Our Engineering Team

At Noom, Engineering is at the forefront of building scalable, intelligent systems that power healthier lives. Our team blends cutting-edge technology with behavioral science to create impactful, user-centered products. As we invest in the next generation of AI-powered capabilities, our Engineering organization is leading the way in developing agentic systems that transform how work gets done across the company.

About the Role

As we continue to grow, we're seeking an Agentic Engineer (New Grad) to help build autonomous, AI-driven systems that power innovation across Noom. In this role, you'll work at the intersection of AI and software engineering, contributing to the development of agent-based workflows that support teams across product, marketing, people, finance, and growth.

This is a unique opportunity to join at the ground floor of Noom's agentic AI journey. You'll collaborate in small, high-autonomy squads alongside experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience while making meaningful contributions from day one.

You Will

  • Contribute to the development of agent-driven systems that translate product requirements into executable specifications and working prototypes
  • Help implement and iterate on multi-agent coordination workflows supporting cross-functional teams
  • Write clean, maintainable code to build LLM-powered systems using tools such as OpenAI and Anthropic
  • Integrate systems with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and support infrastructure-as-code initiatives
  • Build and improve observability systems, including logging, telemetry, and failure handling for AI workflows
  • Develop and refine evaluation frameworks for LLM outputs, including automated testing and regression detection
  • Participate in human-in-the-loop processes to ensure quality and reliability of AI-generated outputs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, data science, and product teams
  • Stay current with emerging AI models, agent frameworks, and developer tools, sharing insights with the team

About You

If you're interested in shaping the future of health by building autonomous systems that redefine how software is created, this role may be for you!

You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or expected within 6 months)
  • Strong programming fundamentals in at least one of: Java, Kotlin, or Python
  • Familiarity with software development practices including Git, code reviews, debugging, and testing
  • Demonstrated curiosity about AI and language models through coursework, projects, or independent exploration
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic), including prompt engineering or tool use
  • Exposure to NLP, machine learning, or language model research through academic or project work
  • Familiarity with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or Autogen
  • Experience with AI-native developer tools such as Cursor, Codex, or Claude Code
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) or containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Contributions to open-source projects, research publications, or standout academic projects

What Makes This Job Amazing

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge agentic AI systems with real-world impact across a growing organization
  • High ownership and autonomy from day one, with mentorship from experienced engineers
  • Exposure to cross-functional problems spanning product, marketing, and business operations
  • A fast-paced, learning-driven environment where your ideas and curiosity are valued

What You'll Earn and Enjoy

  • Pay that reflects your impact. Compensation benchmarked to the market and shaped by your impact and value.
  • Investment in your future. A 401(k) with company match to help you build long-term financial security.
  • Time to truly recharge. Paid holidays, generous time off, Summer Fridays, and a company-wide Summer Break week so the whole team can unplug together.
  • Care that covers it all. Access to top-tier medical plans for you and your family, including a premium-free plan option, alongside dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Support for growing families. Paid parental leave to give you the time and flexibility to focus on what matters most.
  • And more to help you thrive. Stock awards, a performance-based bonus, and exclusive access to Noom's products, so you can grow with us, win with us, and enjoy what we build.

The base salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000. Actual compensation is determined by job-related factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role is eligible for our Princeton office location, operating on a hybrid schedule (2 days per week on-site).
