Job description

Job Title: Robotics EngineerJob Description

Join a leading manufacturer in the commercial shelving industry as a Robotics Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in overseeing the new automation for a newly expanded shelving line. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and programming robotic welding equipment, ensuring seamless operations and optimal performance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, modify, and optimize Fanuc robot programs for welding.
  • Perform robot teaching, touch-ups, and recovery in active production and pre-commissioning environments.
  • Support rapid program adjustments and robot cell start-up.
  • Troubleshoot robot alarms, motion issues, and sequence ladder logic.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality teams to resolve process issues.
  • Perform touch-ups and refinements to improve weld quality, part accuracy, and repeatability.
  • Support containment actions and fast-turn engineering changes during builds.
  • Coordinate with controls teams to validate I/O, interlocks, and basic handshaking.
  • Follow all safety procedures during programming and floor support.
  • Provide on-floor support during peak programming and commissioning periods.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of robotics or PLC programming/integration from scratch.
  • Experience in PLC programming, automation, HMI, and controls engineering.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and managing the installation of PLC setup, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Combination of controls and robotics experience.

Work Environment

Work in a large manufacturing facility producing sheet metal for shelving units. The environment is a mix of older structures with newly installed equipment. Engineers will spend most of their time on the production floor, collaborating with production support teams. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
