Logan Health is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Triage Call Center team in a PRN (as-needed) role. In this position, you will provide professional nursing assessment, triage, patient education, and care coordination by phone, helping support safe, timely, and effective clinical decision-making.

This is a fast-paced, patient-centered opportunity ideal for an RN who is confident working independently, exercises strong clinical judgment, and thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Schedule
Hours of operation: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 7 days per week, 365 days per year

PRN expectations include:

  • No set schedule; shifts are assigned based on department needs

  • Coverage for vacations, call-offs, and high-volume periods

  • Availability equivalent to at least one day per week

  • Some weeks may include multiple shifts, while others may have none

  • Weekend and holiday availability is required

  • Future expansion may include evening shift coverage

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Montana RN license or multi-state compact license with authorization to practice in Montana

  • Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in a medical setting such as a clinic, physician office, or hospital

  • Current BLS/CPR certification at the Healthcare Provider level

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Professional nursing theory and clinical practice

    • Medical terminology

    • Infection prevention and control practices

    • OSHA rules and safety standards

    • HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality requirements

Preferred:

  • BSN degree

  • Previous experience in a triage or call center environment

  • Experience in assigned specialty area(s)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent critical thinking and sound clinical judgment

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems quickly

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide telephonic triage, assessment, and clinical guidance using the nursing process

  • Develop and implement individualized, goal-directed care plans

  • Accurately transcribe and carry out provider orders, both verbal and written

  • Document all patient interactions in accordance with organizational standards

  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition, both physical and mental

  • Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up care

  • Coordinate patient care and interventions in collaboration with providers

  • Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention and workplace safety protocols

  • Demonstrate strong prioritization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Maintain reliable attendance and dependability for scheduled shifts

Day Shift - 10 Hours (United States of America)

PRN / Casual status. Hours will vary and are scheduled as needed to support departmental and patient care needs.

PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs.Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
