Job description

Louisiana Health and Rehab Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team!

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing supervision to the Licensed Practical Nurse regarding nursing duties. Provided oversight on the policy and procedures, staff training on self-administration of medication, medical emergencies, documentation, and medical issues. Must be knowledgeable of patient's treatment and intervention plans, while providing quality nursing care through techniques that support and achieve positive outcome in patient services.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Must be available for consult when needed with the LPN and/or staff as requested for medical issues.
  • Provide supervision, oversight and direction to the LPN on various clients regarding real or suspected medical issues, review medical documents as they become available and respond accordingly to emergencies as needed.
  • Participate in quality medical reviews with the residential treatment team regard health status, medication errors, and incident regarding medical issues regarding clients.
  • Assist with the admission assessments and procedures for new patients.
  • Assist with the discharge preparations process
  • Ensure proper documentation is complete and adheres to the standards outlined in the policies and procedures, set forth by federal, state , and local regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a registered nurse with a Bachelors of Nursing.
  • Must have a valid Licensure in good standing with the state of Louisiana; or valid Multi-State Compact Nurse Licensure.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
