Job description

Join the Medical Surgical (Med Surg 3) team at Novant Health NHRMC, a leading hospital in Wilmington, NC. We’re hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment.

This Med Surg RN position offers exposure to a variety of patient needs including:

  • IV therapy
  • Wound care
  • Dialysis coordination
  • G-tubes and ports
  • Occasional stable trach care

You’ll work alongside experienced nurses, providers, and interdisciplinary teams, building strong clinical skills and advancing your RN career.

Schedule – RN Shift Rotation
  • 3 months Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • 3 months Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • After completing rotations, transition into a permanent day or night shift RN schedule

* Ideal for nurses seeking flexibility + long-term stability

What We're Looking For:
  • Education :  4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
    • If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience :
    • One year of Nursing Experience, required.
      • For applicants with less than one year of nursing experience in an RN capacity, please refer to the RN Residency Program.
    • One year relevant experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification :
    • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required
What You'll Do:
  • Deliver direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
  • Coordinate care for Med Surg patients across the continuum
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and dialysis services
  • Delegate tasks effectively to support staff and maintain workflow
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient documentation
  • Support a team-oriented, patient-focused nursing environment
